BRIEFLY ABOUT TECHNOLOGY
The technology of foam plastic production may be divided into the following stages:
1. Foaming
Granules PSB are put into the foaming machine. They are being foamed (inflated)
there, transforming into small white balls. It occurs thanks to the supply of
small amount of steam into the foaming machine.
2. Aging
Granules are fed to the aging bunker by pneumatic transport after foaming.
The granules should stay in this bunker for 12-24 hours. During this time
stabilization of pressure inside the granules takes place and they are
drying out, as the granules are wet after the foaming machine.
3. Forming
After the aging bunker granules are put into the block-form where forming
of foam plastic block is taking place under the influence of steam, i.e.
foamed balls are alloyed with each other because of the temperature of steam.
4. Aging
After the block is taken from the block-form it should be kept not less
than 24 hours before it can be subjected to cutting. You must do it to
let the block dry out, as it is wet after the form. If the block is cut
wet the cut will be torn and uneven.
5. Cutting
A dry block of foam plastic is cut on the table for cutting. The thickness
of the sheet may be regulated from 0 to 600 mm.
