CELLULAR POLYSTYRENE

Cellular polystyrene (foam plastic) is a heat-keeping material of white colour, containing 98% of air, placed in millions of minute thin-walled balls made of foamed polystyrene. Cellular polystyrene is a neutral material, which does not educe any harmful substances; it is not subjected to the influence of microorganisms; its period of validity is unlimited.

Thermal conductivity of foam plastic 12 cm thick is equal to:
mineral wadding - 18 cm
wood - 45 cm
haydite concrete - 90 cm
brick - 2 m 10 cm
reinforced concrete - 4 m 20 cm

According to its inflammability foam plastic is referred to group B3;
according to its smoke generation - to group D3;
according to its combustibility - to group G2.

The most popular and widespread brand of foam plastic is PSB-25 (which is used practically everywhere).
